What is the Tangle Tamer™?
The Tangle Tamer™ is a silk-covered scarf loop designed to create a smooth barrier between your hair and rough winter scarf fabrics. The outside is 100% Mulberry silk to help reduce friction, frizz, snagging, and tangles, while the inside is wool to help grip the scarf underneath.
How do I use it?
Simply slide the Tangle Tamer™ over your scarf and position it where the scarf comes into contact with the hair at the nape of your neck. The silk exterior should face outward toward your hair.
Why does my scarf cause tangles?
Winter fabrics like wool, cashmere, and chunky knits can create friction as they rub against your hair throughout the day. That repeated rubbing can lead to knots, static, frizz, snagging, and breakage, especially around the neckline.
Why is the outside silk and the inside wool?
Each material has a job. The 100% Mulberry silk exterior gives your hair a smooth surface to rest against, while the wool interior helps create grip against the scarf so the Tangle Tamer™ stays more securely in place.
Will it work with any scarf?
The Tangle Tamer™ is designed to work with most traditional winter scarves, especially wool, cashmere, and knit styles. Fit may vary depending on the thickness and width of your scarf.
Does it replace my scarf?
Nope! That’s the beauty of it. The Tangle Tamer™ is designed to work with any scarf, so you can keep your favorite winter accessories and simply make them more hair-friendly.
Will it slide around on my scarf?
The wool interior was intentionally designed to help grip the scarf underneath and reduce unnecessary sliding. For the best fit, position it around the section of your scarf that naturally sits against the back or sides of your hair.

How do I care for my Tangle Tamer™?
Your Tangle Tamer™ is made with delicate natural fibers, so a little extra care goes a long way.
- Hand wash only in cold water
- Use a gentle detergent made for silk or delicates
- Do not bleach
- Do not wring or twist
- Gently press out excess water with a clean towel
- Reshape and lay flat to air dry
- Do not tumble dry
- Avoid direct heat or prolonged sun exposure
- Steam lightly on low if needed
For best results, wash only when necessary to help preserve the silk exterior and wool interior.
